Explanation of Numbers:

The following is the general breakdown of how the number system will work.

#14 - This roping is for the true beginner, the little kids, and the legends of roping that love the sport and want to continue to rope, but aren't able to compete at any other level.  In it's design, the #14 Roping was a place where nearly any roper had a chance to "win a little".  As the nature of the beast goes, it is now tougher than that.  So in order to get back to its roots without rocking the boat, we will be giving a 3 second per calf handicap to certain individuals that love the sport of calf roping more that most of us, and continue to come and support even though it hasnt paid any dividends in a while.  This will be something that all the area producers will decide and mandate, if a roper asks for the handicap, it will be automatic expulsion into the #13 roping. There will be 3 seconds added to your time in this roping if you don't "get the calf up" (ropers 50 & over or 9 & under will receive 1.5 second penalty)

#13 - This roping is called the #13 because the time it takes to win a go-round in this roping should be in the 13's.   There will be 3 seconds added to your time in this roping if you don't "get the calf up" (ropers 50 & over or 9 & under will receive 1.5 second penalty)

#12 - We would like this roping to be the true 12 second roper.  Ropers that show the ability to get off and get down the rope with relative ease, but aren't able to handle bigger, stronger cattle.  There will be 3 seconds added to your time in this roping if you don't "get the calf up" (ropers 50 & over or 9 & under will receive 1.5 second penalty)

#12+ -

#11 - We will rope beef cattle the majority of the time and feel like these are our 11 second ropers.  Occasionally, these ropers will tie faster calves than that depending on circumstances, cattle, and barrier, but a good solid run for these ropers should be 11 seconds.

#10

#9 - This Roping is for all competitive Ropers that were not in the PRCA Top 15 (NFR Qualifiers) for the last 2 years or in the current year Top 10 PRCA Standings.

BreakAway - Ropers of all abilities will rope in the BreakAway roping, but this roping will be handicapped according to the ropers ability. An Open roper will get .25 seconds added to his/her time, an A Roper will get his/her time (even), B Roper will get .25 seconds off his/her time, and a C Roper will get .50 seconds off. This roping is for all women, and then boys 13 & under/ men 60 & over.

Open to the World Breakaway - This roping is for ropers that may need to get extra runs on a horse, or the ropers who feel handcuffed by the handicap system.  The Open to the World Breakaway is open to ALL Men and Women with no adjustments to time.  There will not be $5 added to entries for Finals fee at this time, as it will simply be a jackpot roping at each roping.
